I'm so pleased that the model call I did in my Smithsburg, Md. portrait studio for my own creative urge was recognized by The Art Of Child Photography!
So, A few weeks back I put out a model call for a young girl that could wear a size 4/5. I had purchased these adorable and vintage inspired dresses one green and one grey that I wanted to photograph. The style I wanted to depict was classic, vintage, painterly and timeless.
I started with my model at a near by orchard, Lewis Orchard
I drive by this field often and had noticed the gorgeous morning glories that were spread through the fields. So we had to plan for a morning session to be sure to capture these beautiful flowers in action.
After our fun at the orchard we went back to my studio to photograph in the grey dress. I just love the way these turned out!
As I mentioned I had purchased the dress, I then styled her hair. I wanted to capture a simple gaze in these images. So often children are used to the camera and big smiles which is great sometimes. However to depict a more classic art look I chose the more silently engaging and captivating looks.
